The Rat Factory

The Rat Factory is a music project composed and produced by Peter Phillip Aradi, and was released on July 27, 2019.

The initial ideas and drafts of individual pieces, melodies, and the overall atmosphere design for this project began in 2015 – as did many of the main themes that run throughout the work. The majority of the production period took place from early 2018 to mid-2019, although work on the project was also done in 2016 and 2017.

The project critically examines human existence and the depths of the human psyche, including the often undifferentiated way people think, their consequent formation of opinions and judgments regarding other individuals, as well as the notion of viewing humans as a superior species and the perception of other beings as lesser life forms.

Metaphorically, the project represents the depths of human existence. Supposedly inferior and dirty elements merely reflect one’s own psyche. Undifferentiated thought patterns that hastily judge and categorize are exposed as human arrogance.
